A clean Hookah enhances the Hookah experience and allows the true flavor of the tobacco to come through without the taint of other tastes.  

Most parts of the Hookah need only be cleaned periodically, however it is imperative that you clean the tank after every use as the smoke is filtered through the water here and leaves behind residue.   The dirty water should be poured out after use and the tank filled with clean water and left overnight.  From time to time some dishwashing liquid should be added and left overnight.  Be sure to rinse the tank thoroughly before use after having added soap.

The bowl should be cleaned periodically with warm soapy water by hand or run through the dishwasher.  

The pipe should be cleaned by running water through it.  If the water comes out dark continue to rinse until it comes out clear.  A small bottle brush can also be used to get the dirt out of the pipe.

The hose should also be cleaned by running water through it.  With proper cleaning most hoses will last about 6 months.
